Privacy Policy
Chalo Jantar Mantar ("the game", "we", "us") is a free browser game at mantarjantar.in and its Android app, made by Sandeep Sahu in India. This policy explains what information the game uses, why, and the choices you have. The short version: there are no accounts, we never ask for your name, phone number or email to play, and most of what the game remembers stays on your own device.
1. Information stored on your device
The game saves these in your browser's local storage, on your device only:
- the nickname you type, your chosen side and how your character looks;
- your progress: XP and level, badges, daily challenge, daily reward and mission progress, and rewards earned;
- settings such as sound, the dhol, graphics quality, camera and controls;
- a random device identifier (a string of letters and numbers made by the game) used to count your points on the weekly leaderboard, and a random invite code for invite links.
You can delete all of this at any time by clearing the site's data in your browser.
2. Information our server handles
- Online matches: when you play online, your nickname, side, character look and level are sent to the game server and shown to the other players in your match.
- Weekly leaderboard: for online matches, the server keeps your points with your nickname and random device identifier for about two weeks, then deletes them. The device identifier is never shown to anyone.
- Invites: if you open the game through a friend's invite link and finish an online match, the server notes that a device came through that link (by its random identifier) for up to 24 days.
- Update notifications: only if you turn them on, your browser gives us a push address so we can send you a notification about game updates. We keep only that address (no name, number or email). You can turn notifications off in the game menu or in your browser settings.
- Server logs: like every website, our web server records technical information about requests (such as IP address, time, page requested and browser type). These logs are used to keep the site running and secure (for example, to block automated attacks) and are kept for a short time, usually up to two weeks.
We do not sell your information. We do not ask for or store your real name, phone number, email address or location to play.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and play (for example, which pages are visited and how long a match lasts). Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device and browser. Your nickname is never sent to analytics. If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal, we do not load Google Analytics at all. You can also opt out with Google's browser add-on.
Advertising. This site may show ads from Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Where the law requires it (for example, for visitors in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom), we will ask for your consent before personalised ads are shown.
4. Services from other companies
To run the game we use a few outside services, which may receive your IP address and technical information when your browser connects to them: Cloudflare (which delivers and protects the site), Google Fonts (the game's font), Wikimedia Commons (some of the game's sound recordings) and the browser's own push service if you turn on notifications. Each has its own privacy policy.
5. Children
The game is meant for players aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
6. Your choices and rights
- Clear your browser's site data to delete everything stored on your device.
- Turn off update notifications at any time from the game menu.
- Ask us to remove a nickname from the leaderboard, or any information linked to your device, by contacting us.
7. Changes to this policy
If the game starts using information in a new way, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
