Jugaad Cards in Chalo Jantar Mantar: every card, how to get them and when to play them
A Jugaad card is a one-off trick you play in the middle of an online match: a naara that carries twice as far, a way off the police map, a quick escape from the detention bus. Here is what each of the five cards does, how you get them, and when to play them so they count.
What a Jugaad card is
Every card works for both sides. The same card gives the andolankari one power and Dilli Police another, and you always get the power of the side you are playing. Both are printed in small type at the bottom of the card, with yours lit up.
- You can play one card a round, so up to three in a match of three rounds, and five a day.
- Cards work only in online matches. In practice against bots you can look at them, but not play them.
- You can hold up to 20 cards, and they never expire. A card stays in your hand until you play it.
- Cards can't be bought. Everybody gets them the same way, by playing.
The five cards
| Card | ✊ Andolankari | 👮 Dilli Police |
|---|---|---|
| 📢 Shor | Your next naara, within 20 seconds, reaches twice as far and brings 50% more people. | Megaphone, at once: every kafila nearby loses a quarter of its people (up to 15 from each). |
| 🕵️ Chhupa Rustam | You vanish from the police map for 15 seconds. | Jammer: protesters near you lose their map for 15 seconds. |
| 🚇 Shortcut | At once: the metro is ready to take you again, and your stamina is full. | Siren: you run 30% faster for 10 seconds. |
| 🛡️ Bachao | While the police carry you off, or hold you in the detention bus: free at once, and nobody can detain you for 8 seconds. | Backup: three more constables walk with you for 30 seconds. |
| 🌟 Jan Sailab (special) | 15 people join your kafila at once. | Section 163 order: protesters near you slow down for 10 seconds. |
Jan Sailab is the special card, with a gold frame. You can't earn it by playing: it comes only on festivals and as a gift from the game.
How to play a card
- Join an online match and wait for the round to start.
- On a phone, tap the round 🎟️ button next to the 💬 button. On a computer, press K or click the CARD box in the row of powers at the bottom.
- Your cards open in a small tray. Tap a card, and it is played. It flies up in the middle of the screen, and everyone in the match sees in the feed who played which card.
A card that can't be played right now is greyed out. The andolankari's Bachao, for example, works only while the police have you, and says so on the card. When they do have you, the 🎟️ button glows and a message reminds you that you have a Bachao in hand.

Festival cards
On a festival everyone who opens the game gets a golden Jan Sailab with the festival's name on it, by itself, once per festival. Like every card, it stays until you play it.
- 🪔 Diwali Dhamaka: Diwali and the two days after it (8–10 November 2026)
- 🎨 Holi Hungama: Holi and the day after
- 🏹 Dussehra Vijay: Dussehra and the day after
- 🇮🇳 Azadi Josh: 15 and 16 August
- 🇮🇳 Gantantra Josh: 26 and 27 January
Giving a card to a teammate
In a match, a teammate short of cards can ask with the quick phrase "🎟️ Card chahiye!" (key 7 on a computer, or the 💬 button on a phone). To give one, open your tray and tap the small 🎁 on the corner of a card, then pick a teammate from the list. The card reaches them at once.
- You can give 3 cards a day, and a player can receive up to 10 a day.
- You need to be at least Level 2 to give cards.
- Only cards you earned by playing can be given. Free cards, festival cards and gifts are yours alone.
When to play each card
A card played at the right moment can turn a round. Some ideas:
- Shor: as andolankari, play it just before a naara in a busy market street, where there are plenty of people to call. As police, save the megaphone for a big kafila heading for the cordon.
- Chhupa Rustam: as andolankari, play it when you make your run at Jantar Mantar, so the police can't see you coming on the map. As police, jam the protesters' map just as several kafilas close in, so they lose their way.
- Shortcut: as andolankari, play it at a metro entrance far from Jantar Mantar to ride again at once. As police, use the siren to catch a leader who has broken away from their kafila.
- Bachao: as andolankari, keep it for the moment the constables lift you, rather than playing it early. As police, call the backup when you are holding a barricade alone.
- Jan Sailab: as andolankari, play it just before the Section 163 zone, where you need 100 people together. As police, slow the kafilas down when the dharna is close to full power.
Is it pay to win?
No. Cards can't be bought, everyone earns them the same way, and anyone with an empty hand gets a free card every day. Every card works for both sides, so no side gets more from them. They are there to make matches more fun and more surprising, not to decide them.
